Leona was enjoying the beautiful sparkling sight. The flowing of bright dark skirts, the pairs of masked dancers swirling around with the eerie music, so dark yet brightly shown. It reminded her of the parties the pharoahs threw in the gods' honor. But this was much nicer looking than dark-skinned slave girls in gold cloth and jingling jewelry. She admired the dresses the women must have killed or spent a fortune to make. She herself was adorn in a plain black corset sewn to a deep red flowy skirt, a long red velvet cloth that she could put over her head, and a black mask with two long black and one gold feather on one corner of it. She looked like a gypsy, elegant and mysterious. She slowly walked around the dance floor, watching the waltz.

Ania crept about the perepherial hallways to the masquerade, thuroughly aware that her discovery could lead to her death. Her disguise was simple- a long emerald green gown in the Russian style trimmed with black lace, a long lace shawl draped over her head, hiding her face, and covering her shoulders and half of her arms. She smiled at the scene, careful to keep hidden and out of the way of others. She knew she would be found easily at floor level, so she made her way to the stairs to the balcony, hoping not to encounter much resistance on her path.

***Jason Traxx*** The sound of spurs were heard as a man dressed in black jeans, and a black shirt and matching black leather gambler's vest walked in not even bothering to remove the black cowboy's hat he wore. On either of his thighs were two holstered Colt Peacemakers and as he looked around the ball he rolled a cigarette then removed a match and struck it once.

Ania arrived safely on the balcony and surveyed her surroundings, happy to finally be able to properly people-watch. Though she was not entirely afraid of the many vampires around her, she was wary of being turned- she liked being alive more than she figured she would like being dead. She leaned on the railing and sighed, hoping that her alert hearing would keep her aware of anyone sneaking up behind her. One sound seemed out of place to her- something she had not heard at a vampire event- spurs. She scanned the room, her eyes trying to pick out the source of the sound her ears were tuned to. She spotted the source- a man in a black hat- and smiled- a new face always pleased her- unfortunately for her, it usually meant she had one more unpredictable force she had to watch out for. Observing the vampires, she was able to pick out patterns in order to stay safe and avoid conflict.

***Jason Traxx*** The only reason he was here was to meet Dracula, not to be involved in the innane stupidity of the nobility. Plus the dances had gotten boring for him very quickly when he had been alive as had all the pomp and arrogance. He took a drag of his cigarette and watched saying nothing the silver spurs jingling as he made his way towards a rather long table.

Ania listened to the music filtering upwards- the violin gave her that deep stirring from somewhere in her soul that only music of a homeland can- she smiled and stepped back on the balcony, reminding herself that she could not allow herself the luxury of being seen. She ignored the fancy patterned court-dances the vampires emulated of the nobility and began to do, in a subdued miniature, the pattern dances her mother had taught her. As in most histories, the vulgate dances of the peasentry had been assimilated by the nobilty and altered for their court suitability. Ania's steps were less checked than the nobles by their very nature and, due to that, she stepped closer to the railing than she would have liked and realised a little late that there was a distinct possibility that her dancing had been seen and that not only would her humanity be revealed, but her origins in the lower classes as an herbalist would also be noticed. She checked to make sure that her lace was still secure and stepped back from the ledge, making her way to a corner where she could easily disguise her presence or flee if she felt threatened.

***Jason Traxx*** His gaze came to a stop on a human female and he walked over calmly then tipped his hat in her direction "ma'am."

Ania's heart skipped a beat, but she maintained her exterior calm and gave a little bow, "Good eve'n, sir."

***Jason Traxx*** "It's a tad late innit ma'am?" Traxx asked politely his eyes looking her over as he smoked quietly studying her. What exactly was a human doing here?

Ania smiled, knowing that her face was rather hidden and the gesture was probably moot, "It isn't too terribly late- it is a beautiful night, why should I miss it?" She shrugged, "The night is yet young."

***Jason Traxx*** He arched an eyebrow "for some yes for others such as yourself I'd have thought the daylight would suit you better." Obviously she was trying her best to keep from being killed the question was why be here at all.

Ania sighed, "Must be pretty transparent that I'm not one of the denizins of the night, eh? I actually prefer the night- the moon is better to work under- it amplifies the healing properties of many of the plants I work with." He knew she was human, there was no use hiding it now.

Ania gave a light laugh, "This place is absolutely stunning, for one...and the other...well, I have always wanted to meet the Count- if family lore serves right, I should remind him of someone from four centuries ago...an old friend, shall we say. I have always wanted to know if he would recognise her in me."

***Jason Traxx*** "In short you're a groupie" he stated flatly not caring if she was going to be angry due to his response or not. Long as he was paid that was all that mattered.
