Now many might ask but.... [glow=green,4,200]What is a Fanfiction?[/glow] Fanfiction are stories written by fans for (movies/books/tv series etc). It's usually stories based on 'What if's', poems, screenplays or anything really. Many people write stories about what if's, for example: What would have happened if Harry Potter had died before killing the Dark Lord? or something like that. These fanfictions are called Alternate Universe. The writers shorten it to sound like AU. If you write a fanfiction, you make no money by writing these stories and many of the writers who do write fanfiction put disclaimers explaining they do not own the actual movie/book/music/tv series etc. It is a bit like writing a fiction story, except there already is a topic and story and the author can write based on them.
But then another might ask... [glow=red,4,200]What is Slash?[/glow] Pending.... Angelicasy do you know? Cause I have no idea. lol

[glow=red,2,300]What is a rating?[/glow]
This are the controll of the age, where did the younger to older reader from Fanfiction.
PG-13 means over 12 years old R means over 16 years old NC-17 means over 18 years old and may not read for younger guests.

thank you Gabriel Van Helsing! and dont worry, I forget as well! lol And the Basics of writing a fanfiction... [glow=purple,4,200] BASICS[/glow] If you decide to write a story in Fanfiction.net (www.fanfiction.net), here are some basics that are going to come up. ID Number: Simply... The ID number for the story. Title: The title of the story. Summary: The main idea of the story. To explain what the fanfiction story you'Ve written is all about. Language: English or some other language you write or speak in. Rating: Written Above Genre 1 & 2: Genre is something that categorizes your story in. For example: Action/Adventure. It means your story is about Action and Adventure. Same for Genre #2, you click for a similar genre. Category: Category is an area where you can umm categorize, lol, the fanfiction its gonna be. Except unlike Genre, its going to go in either the Movies or Books, etc. Since it is a fanfiction, it is based on the story of the fiction. So it must go somewhere. For example, if you write a fanfiction for our beloved Van Helsing, then it goes to the Movies » Van Helsing section. Then other Van Helsing fans will know where to look for your fanfiction.

[glow=yellow,4,200] What is Bashing?[/glow] It means, well, hitting on the characters. For example, when a writer warns that there is Bashing in the specified fic, one character either insults the bashed character.
